My name is Gordon Stebbings. I’m a big dummy from Baltimore, MD who flips houses for a living. I grew up in a family that knows the construction biz. I learned by being on the job site. From the time I was young I spent summers working on everything from small houses to large commercial buildings.
Getting Started
After graduating college I went to work in the automotive industry. About 6 months in I bought my first foreclosure. It was the height of the market and I thought it would be awesome to flip houses on the side while making an engineer’s salary. I (and a few of my buddies) literally did everything to that first house. Between the time I bought and sold that place I spent days online soaking up all the free real estate investing knowledge I could find. I learned how to find deals, how to find partners, how to get an equity line of credit, how to analyze rentals, etc.
I aggressively went after every “deal” I could find. Some I sold, some I kept as rentals, but they all had one thing in common, they needed rehab. I thought I was building an empire! Little did I know I had created a real estate mini-monster. My plan was to buy homes and live in them while I rehabbed them for retail or rental. I became really good at moving. I actually stopped unpacking as I moved from house to house. I made profits but it made no sense. I was the Charlie Sheen of real estate investing.
Fast-Forward to Today
I still have the passion. But now I am “full time”, as they say. I’ve spent much time and money seeking out the best coaches and mentors in the country. If ever there was a time for someone (you) to learn from the mistakes of others (me), now is the time, and this is the place.
